More Details

Rays of Lights is a non-profit organization in which we provide free respite care for families with special needs children. Our program is very dependent on volunteers who help us take care of the children on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Friday of the month(excluding the month of January and July). There are three sites you can choose to volunteer at, Lovers Lane United Methodist Church which occurs the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Friday of the month, at White Rock United Methodist Church that will occur on the 1st Friday of the month, and Christ Foundry United Methodist Mission which occurs the 3rd Friday of the month. There is a volunteer application they have to fill out in order for them to volunteer with us before you attend your first Night lights event. We provide dinner from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm for our volunteers and at 6:00 pm the children begin to arrive. You will be paired with a special needs child or a sibling for the night you will enjoy activities with them such as gym, computer lab, games, puzzles, books, Xbox, crafts, movies and some form of live entertainment. At every Night Lights event, there is nursing staff as well as an off-duty Dallas Police Officer who is there to ensure the safety of all of the children. For more information on our program please feel free to visit our website at or email me with any questions. Thank you for your time!
