We Need Help! Can you take crisis calls for a domestic violence agency?
Your words of encouragement, guidance to persevere hardship, safety planning and coordination with other agencies to help a victim become free will directly impact lives on the other end of the line. You will be the first professional contact representing our agency's services giving your caller hope to overcome an abusive situation. If you are interested in being an uplifting voice for callers of domestic abuse, and can remain calm during emotional calls, this may be the most rewarding use of your time as a volunteer.
You would be working in
an open team oriented environment so you must be able to work well with
other volunteers and at times with little or no supervision. Some days
will be busy while other days are a leisurely pace.
