More Details

We're seeking volunteer grant writers to help us land operating grants and educational grants so we can bring our seedball making program into the classroom of regional ISD's.

- We landed the Dallas Parks Foundation as a fiscal sponsor this past February. This is the first time in 4 years of operating that we have non-profit status and access to non-profit grant sources.
- We have all most of the reusable materials we need to host educational workshops with school kids, including TEKS-aligned lesson plans. What we need is a source of funding that secures purchases of seed, compost, soil amendments, clay, gas, and time.
- In the DFW region we partner with City of Dallas Water Utilities, City of Dallas Park and Recreation, Friends of the Santa Fe Trail, Friends of the Northaven Trail, Trinity Park Conservancy, Friends of Oak Cliff Nature Preserve, and City of Fort Worth Watershed Dept. These organizations distribute community made seedballs across the parks and trails they steward. We are attempting to stabilize and strengthen our supplies of seedballs by introducing seedball making as an alternative science and volunteer activity for ISD's.
- We are not aware of specific sources of funding at this time.
