More Details

After completing your volunteer application and becoming accepted as a Calm Ambassador, join us and help our students with daily homework and learning centers (reading, writing, word work, math, science/ STEAM) and interactive activities supporting character development.

Heart House is an education nonprofit providing life changing, holistic services to 240 refugee children annually. We work in the Vickery Meadow community of Dallas, a high-poverty area where 22 different languages are spoken. With a track record of serving underprivileged children hailing from trauma-sensitive backgrounds, our innovative after school and summer programs utilize social emotional learning to help them thrive in their new community.

Who are Refugees?

Refugees are individuals who have been forced to flee to another country to avoid persecution, war or violence.
