More Details

Camp Summit is a "sleep away" camp for children and adults with disabilities located in Paradise, Texas (about 45 minutes NW of Fort Worth). We are looking for volunteers to come to camp to provide our campers with special needs the week of a lifetime. Camp Summit provides the typical camping experience through hard work and adaptation to bring our campers the same experiences many of us had as a child. We serve children and adults with special needs ranging from ages 6-99. Our campers have a variety of diagnoses with varying levels of needs. One of the main roles of our volunteers is to provide assistance to our campers in whatever way they need for personal care or activities. Campers are offered a wide variety of traditional camp activities in our barrier-free environment-all of which are adapted for our campers' abilities-and not limited to their disabilities. We have horses, archery, arts & crafts, sports & games, nature, and so much more!

We are looking for groups of any size, all genders, and all majors. Essentially, volunteers need to be 16 or older and have a strong desire to work with our special campers. We provide volunteers with meals and housing.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, or go directly to our volunteer registration at https://campsummittx.campbrainstaff.com/and complete an online application!
