Animal Nutrition Center (ANC) volunteers assist the Zoo’s nutritionist in the preparation of animal diets. Learn about animal diets and food preparation from our professional dietician and knowledgeable staff. You will help in the preparation of over 2500 different animal diets made here daily.

ANC Volunteers will be given an orientation regarding general Zoo policies, as well as the benefits of volunteering at the Dallas Zoo.  More detailed, hands-on training will be provided by Animal Nutrition Staff.

Time Commitment:
• Give approximately five hours of service per week, Starting at 6:30am
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions. The work can be strenuous.

Volunteers must commit to one-morning shift per week, which starts at 6:30am.
