Department and/or Team: Transport

Reports to: the Transport Assistant Director, Transport Director, the VP of Animal Operations, and the Executive Director.

Works with: Will have regular and continuous contact virtually or over the phone with other members of the transport team, and external partner rescues that are not DPA. Contacts with others will require tactful exchanges and a positive, professional demeanor.

Description of Role: Transport Partner Administrators are responsible for creating and maintaining shareable folders/documents with partner rescues.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Confirm that partner agreement between DPA and partner rescue has been signed by someone at DPA, Assistant Director or above.

  • When transport date is set, create animal-specific folders that are shared with the correct transport partner.

  • Coordinate with other areas as needed to ensure all necessary information (medical invoices/info, pictures, profiles) is included in folder for review by partner, as well as ShelterLuv.

  • Process transports as requested out of ShelterLuv once animal has been transported and all records received.  

Skills/Qualifications Needed:

  • Education and Experience: Must be a high school graduate with some related animal/rescue group experience

  • Understanding (or willingness to learn about) the situation in Dallas, the way DPA works, and the importance of transfer partnerships

  • Must be responsive and communicate appropriately and professionally

  • Must have high attention to detail and ability to follow through on long term projects

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week (not necessarily within the specific hours on posting)
