The program will be monthly, and if engagement with patient leads to other visits, that is even better.  We have made a thank you letter to give to our patients on service that have served with any branch of the Military and are going to take this along with a flag or the patient to their room or home and present the items and say thank you.  Also in development is a letter to the spouse that has had a service member pass away, as the spouse and family is a distinct support system to the Military personnel, and deserves recognition as well.

We know that Veterans often times do not speak of their service time, as it was difficult and not everyone understands, so they would rather not mention it at all.  We hope to have a Veteran work with our Hospice to deliver these letters, so that the patient (if able) can possible have someone that can relate to their service experience.
