POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To support the event functions of Dallas Pets Alive by ensuring that event and merchandise supplies are fully stocked and event storage is kept in order.
TIME REQUIREMENT: 5-10 hours per month.
Visit storage space on a monthly basis (or more frequently as required) to evaluate event supplies.
Keep event storage bins stocked and cleaned.
Purchase needed supplies as necessary (DPA will reimburse) to keep bins fully stocked.
Maintain inventory of extra event supplies available in storage as well as items needed.
Ensure merchandise inventory is organized and periodically take detailed inventory.
Order replacement merchandise inventory as needed to maintain adequate supply for sale at events.
Collaborate on new merchandise suggestions with team and help evaluate feasibility of purchasing, including research for design and printing.
Note items in storage that need to be distributed to foster families (food, toys, beds, etc.) and coordinate to get these items to users.
Note items in storage that do not belong and arrange to have these items returned to their owners, donated, or otherwise disposed of.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Correspondence with DPA volunteers and leadership team on a regular basis.
CONTROLS OVER WORK: This position reports to the Events Director, VP Administration and the Executive Director.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of Google drive and documents is helpful although not required; training can be provided.
Must be able to lift and move items up to 40 pounds.
Must have good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must display a positive attitude at all times and present DPA in a positive manner to the public.
Must have HS diploma or higher degree of education.
Should live or work near downtown Dallas to enable proximity to our storage space, although this is not strictly required.
