Meals on Wheels Delivery Volunteer
All volunteers must complete a criminal background check, sign a photo consent form and attend a one-hour training prior to delivery.
Upon completion of training, volunteers will meet with a volunteer coordinator assigned for the geographic area where a volunteer would like to deliver (i.e. Irving, Grand Prairie, Lancaster, Mesquite). Once a geographic location is selected, volunteers will let us know what day of the week they’d like to deliver and how often (i.e once a week, monthly, etc.). Depending on route availability, volunteers can begin delivering the next day.
Group Days of Caring
Our Days of Caring provide a perfect one-time/episodic volunteer opportunity for groups (church, corporate, social, school) and/or companies of all sizes. From a small team-building opportunity for six – 20 people, to large group opportunities that can accommodate up to 300 volunteers – we provide a fun and rewarding experience that will show you and your colleagues the need and importance of feeding and caring for our elderly and disabled citizens. Please allow two weeks to schedule and plan a Day of Caring. All participants must meet at 10 a.m., the day of delivery, at the VNA Meals on Wheels kitchen prior to delivery for a brief training and to complete necessary paperwork.
