The Courts are the best way to ensure legal safety for women and children in danger of domestic violence. Volunteers from Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support and other local Domestic Violence shelters help to monitor the proceedings in the protective order court for Dallas County. As a Court Partnership Volunteer, you will be collecting data during protective order court hearings. Our volunteers are the backbone of this program and are the forefront for making sure the community has a voice within the court systems. Volunteers with flexible daytime schedules needed here!
Objectively monitor the judicial process and record the information for analysis.
Formulate recommendations for improvement to be implemented either by the court or at a community level.
Gather the information documented in court by the volunteers; analyze and publish the results as feedback to the judges, legislators, and general public.
Promote coordination in domestic violence intervention.
Identify strengths and weaknesses within the court systems. Document the effectiveness of judicial intervention.
