More Details

Dallas Animal Service's Southern Dallas C.A.R.E. Program uses innovative strategies and fresh approaches designed to extend the reach of animal services, providing education and resources to under-served areas. Addressing the critical need for accessible, affordable pet care, our program helps animals by combining empowerment with enforcement.

Our biggest need right now is volunteers to walk door to door. Pairs of volunteers bring free resources right to the doorsteps of pet owner's in areas that need it the most. They also hand out fliers with city ordinances regarding pet ownership and organizations that can extend free/low cost services to meet these requirements. In addition to reaching out to pet owners, our volunteers also engage citizens without pets. By building these relationships, we pave the way for a healthier, happier Dallas for both the two- and four-legged alike!
