More Details

*This is a GREAT opportunity for education students, those looking to join programs like the Peace Corps/AmeriCorps/Teach For America, or thinking about teaching English abroad!*

As a service learning coordinator, you will connect the students with whom we work (ages 10-19) to service-learning opportunities in their communities!
You will explore and research ways in which students can make a difference by communicating with community agencies and partners!

Service learning is important because it teaches our kids how to give back while learning something along the way!

Examples of successful service learning projects (borrowed from

1) Students developed questions that were asked at the local "Foods with Friends" gathering. The students interviewed the seniors to learn about their community and then put on a skit for the seniors to show them what they had learned. They followed up with decorated "Thank You" cards to show their appreciation.

2) Students learning about animals went out into a nature center and took care of a butterfly nest. They then performed a play for other students and their parents dealing with what they had learned about butterflies at the nature center.

Please don't hesitate to apply! Training will be provided, and you will be supported by an incredible staff grateful for your help!
