Boy2Men - Mentoring Boys - Creekside Elementary - Monthly Wednesday Lunch
The Boys2Men Leadership and Mentoring Initiative is a program with the goals of developing leadership and character traits in 4th & 5th grade boys. It is a partnership between Loving Community volunteers and Creekside Elementary. The primary goal is pretty simple. To help boys to learn to be men with the encouragement of a male mentor and role model!
Dr. Kevin Rogers, LISD Superintendent of Schools, and Boys2Men mentor says, “There is no doubt that you can make a difference in a child's life! The impact an adult can have is immeasurable. You'll also find out that you'll benefit as much or more from the mentorship.”
Key to this volunteer mentoring program is the engagement of men from the community. With these key volunteers contributing approximately one hour per month, it provides an opportunity for boys to rub shoulders with men who encourage them in learning and applying character traits such as respect, loyalty, good manners, and being mentally and physically strong.
