Rockbrook Elementary School Volunteers
Rockbrook Elementary School is an LISD elementary school with lots of need and opportunity to meet that need through a committed volunteer core. Below are the many roles and flexible times to volunteer.
Breakfast or Lunch Helper—Assist with opening containers and getting the students through the breakfast and lunch process. Breakfast - 7:15-7:50 a.m.; Lunch - 9:45-10:50 a.m. or 10:50–11:20 a.m.
Recess Helper—Assist teacher with the children during recess. 9:40–10:10 a.m. or 10:20–10:50 a.m.
Library Assistant—Re-shelf books and other tasks as needed.
Classroom Assistant—Adopt a grade level and help with making copies, hanging artwork, greeting the
class, running copies, and cutting and sorting materials.
Room Parent for Parties—Help with classroom parties.
Mentoring—Work one-on-one with a child for an hour a week assisting him/her with school work.
Cookie and Treat Makers—Provide treats for the Rockbrook staff once a month for meetings.
Note Writing Team/Appreciation—Write encouraging notes to the teachers and staff members.
Prayer Team—Pray for the teachers, staff and the school.
Door Greeter—Greet children/parents at the front doors. !
Flower Team—Pick up flower bouquets at Market Street each Wednesday morning, label and deliver to classrooms.
Reading Pen Pals—Be paired with a student, read the same book and write to each other about the book.
Art Classroom Assistant—Work with students during art class.
Food4kids Delivery—Pass out snack bags provided by the North Texas Food Bank each Thursday afternoon (2:45-3:15 p.m.) CIS background check required.
Field Trip Chaperones—Be a chaperone during field trips.
Support the PTA—Join the PTA and stay informed of the activities at Rockbrook. For example, Book Fair, Pencil Sales, Field Day, and more.
Special Events—Be a volunteer during special events: Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, Career Day and the Annual Luau.
