Who is NewDay?

NewDay services works with broken families and works with the parents by providing the real life answers to real life problems in parenting and conflict resolution.  Our organization impacts children's lives by empowering their parents - offering them hope and inspiration through practical tools and life coaching.

We currently have several “Volunteer Care Specialist” positions available. These volunteer opportunities are for the Family Services Department of NewDay Services located at the Family Law Center in Downtown Fort Worth.

Volunteer Job Description

Under the supervision of the NDS Chaplain, we are looking for Volunteer Care Specialists who are able to volunteer twice a week for 3 to 4 hours in our office at the Family Law Center. We are looking for someone who is familiar with working in an office setting. Experience working in a court environment would be helpful. Experience answering phone calls, retrieving messages and getting messages to the appropriate person is required. The Volunteer Care Specialist would need to possess good communication skills with the ability to provide clients with important information accurately. A pleasant voice is a must. A good candidate would have the ability to be patient when speaking with callers who may be angry or frustrated. The ability to show compassion when interacting with callers or walk in clients is extremely important. Other duties include some filing and class preparation (photocopying, sorting, stapling, etc.), scheduling clients for classes and /or appointments on the phone and/or in person. Computer knowledge is needed for data entry and maintaining calendars on Outlook. Training will be provided.
